What this review checks

This framework looks at product fit, privacy and account controls, billing clarity, cancellation routes, and whether a decision can be made without pressure. A numerical score appears only when the editorial record contains dated supporting evidence; it is never a user-score average or a guarantee about another platform.

Checked 30 July 2026. This is a policy-based review of WinkMe.ai, not a claim that we completed a paid subscription or tested every logged-in screen. We read the platform’s current legal index, privacy notice and terms, then translated the important clauses into practical checks you can repeat before paying.

WinkMe combines fictional AI chat with generated media, so privacy depends on both account settings and what you type into conversations.

What WinkMe.ai is — and is not

WinkMe describes its service as an adult AI-companion platform for fictional character chat plus generated images, video and voice notes. Its terms explicitly frame the conversations as entertainment rather than emotional support and warn that AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. That distinction matters: this is not a dating marketplace where another verified person is waiting on the other side of the chat.

The legal operator named in the current documents is Lexivanta Limited in Cyprus. Having an identified operator, policy hub and contact address is a useful transparency signal, but it does not remove the need to inspect the checkout and account controls yourself.

Privacy: the important clauses behind the interface

The privacy notice lists account management, companion customisation, image generation, chat, voice calls, support, analytics, quality assurance, moderation and payment processing among its processing purposes. It also says de-identified or anonymised data may be used for internal research and AI-model training. In plain language, treat every prompt as data that may pass through several service providers and internal systems.

The terms add an especially important moderation caveat: conversations are generally described as confidential, but content flagged by moderation controls may be accessed and manually reviewed by the operator or authorised partners. The safest rule is simple: do not put your legal name, home address, employer, passwords, financial details, private photos or another person’s identifying information into a fantasy chat.

WinkMe’s content licence is broad. You keep ownership of your input, but the terms grant the operator a worldwide licence to use and process submitted content. That is another reason to use invented scenarios and non-identifying prompts. For a broader workflow, read our private adult-service checklist before creating any account.

Retention and deletion: what is documented

The privacy notice gives more concrete retention information than many AI-companion sites. It says account data is generally kept for three years after the last activity or until a deletion request, financial and transactional records for ten years where required by Cyprus law, and marketing data until consent is withdrawn or two years after the last interaction. A deletion request therefore should not be read as a promise that every legally required transaction record disappears immediately.

The notice lists rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, with requests directed to the published privacy contact. Before relying on that process, save the date, the address used for the request and any case number. If you are comparing AI services specifically, our Secrets.ai vs OhChat privacy comparison shows how different platforms document similar controls.

Billing, auto-renewal and cancellation

WinkMe’s terms say some features are sold through subscriptions, credits or other paid access. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. The documented cancellation path is Settings → Unsubscribe; access should continue until the end of the paid billing period, after which the account returns to the free version. Unused credits are described as expiring when paid access ends.

Do not rely on a button press alone. After cancelling, capture the confirmation screen, the date, the plan name and the expected final access date. Check the next bank statement as well. Our cancellation evidence guide explains what to retain before escalating a disputed renewal.

The terms describe short refund-request windows for many card purchases and separate treatment for EU and UK withdrawal rights. Eligibility depends on location, payment type and use of the service, so the checkout terms shown to your account are the controlling evidence. We do not publish a price because pricing and discounts can change by plan and market.

A five-minute test before sharing a real prompt

  1. Open the legal pages in a separate tab. Confirm the operator, update date and support address still match this review.
  2. Inspect the checkout. Record the currency, billing period, renewal wording, taxes and whether credits are separate from the subscription.
  3. Find cancellation before paying. If Settings does not expose the documented unsubscribe route, pause and contact support.
  4. Use a non-identifying first conversation. Avoid real names, faces, locations, health details, work information and third-party data.
  5. Test account rights early. Locate privacy controls and the support route before building a long chat history.

Our verdict

WinkMe publishes a relatively detailed privacy notice, including named processing purposes and retention periods, and its terms provide a direct in-account cancellation path. The trade-off is that AI-companion prompts can be processed for moderation and service improvement, flagged conversations may be manually reviewed, and the content licence is broad. WinkMe is a better fit for adults who can keep fantasy prompts deliberately non-identifying and who are comfortable verifying renewal and deletion controls themselves. It is a poor fit if you need end-to-end private messaging, guaranteed human interaction or instant erasure of all transaction records.
